A quilt?!

I have all these friends that are making adorable quilts. I used to think that quilting was really old-fashioned or something that you reserved for your 60s. But with all these cute quilts going around, I thought maybe I should try my hand at one. I found some awesome vintage fabric that was my grandmothers. My colors are all shades of blue. Currently, I'm working on cutting out about 128 4 inch squares. I threw a bunch of material in the washing machine to get it clean and ready to go. Here is little peak at my progress!

These are some of my favorite materials in the quilt

I can't wait to see how it turns out. My goal is to have it done by the end of June. Think I can do it?

Time to change your last name!!

My best friend got married two weekends ago and I am so happy for her! The wedding was sweet and her colors were red and pale purple. I have to tell you, I was a little skeptical about the color scheme, but I believe she pulled it off amazingly well. Our dresses were a pale lavender and we all picked out our own red shoes!

The flowers were just beautiful. Unfortunately my camera died early on in the day and I was not able to get batteries until later. I was upset! But I did catch a few memories on camera and these are some of my favorites.

We did a few very non-traditional things at this wedding as well. We sent her off in a shower of toasted coconut. It was so pretty and smelled delicious! We also had a delicious reception meal featuring a selection of South African and Asian foods. It was such a beautiful day and I wish Emily and Ethan a long and happy life together.

Fall Colors

My friend Allison and I have been doing a little research for a project we are working on (for now, that's a secret, but check back soon and I'll let you know what's going on!!!) I met with her today to discuss fall color trends. She pulled out a few paint chips and it was exactly the color palette listed above. She's good.

So...keep your eye out over the next few months for some pretty sweet color combinations. I personally think they are great. There is such a big variety and so many different combinations that can be used together. I can't wait to incorporate some of these colors into my decor and wardrobe. I'm especially loving the greens.

What do you think?? Are you as excited about these colors as I am?

XO,
C
